I’m Olivia Alcaire. I was appointed to the Hillsboro City Council in 2017, and now I’m running for re-election. I’m relatively new to local government, and I bring a fresh, diverse perspective to our city council. I’m pragmatic, people-oriented, and a social justice advocate.
I firmly believe that your elected officials should be accessible and talk directly with people to understand the problems they face before trying to make policies. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org anytime, and I am always open to listening to residents of my community.
Since I took office in 2017, Hillsboro has come a long way. And as we have grown, new opportunities have brought new challenges. I accomplished a lot in my first term as councilor, but it’s only the beginning. There is so much work to be done to make Hillsboro a better place to live, and I’m determined to see it through.
Everyone in Hillsboro deserves a place to call home, safe transportation, a healthy environment, and a place where their family can flourish. These are the priorities I’ve been pursuing during my time on city council, and I’ll continue to fight for them if I’m elected to a second term.
“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community… Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” – Cesar Chavez
